Concussion Girl has been around in one form or another since the late 90’s, when Beverly and Kevin first started working together.
Initially known as “South”, the band has been through numerous line-up changes, but the current line-up has been in place since the release of their first highly successful album, “Ride” in 2007.
The one new addition has been the recent acquisition of the talented Darren Drawbridge on guitar which has expanded and broadened the bands musical range and ambitions.
Concussion Girls’ track record is one of building a reputation and a repertoire of songwriting and performance that delivers the musical goods every time. From charting on internet and campus radio to playlisting on mainstream stations like 5 fm and Good Hope, to writing songs for local and international TV and film soundtracks, to acclaimed performances at festivals and in clubs, Concussion Girl has spent the last ten years honing itself into a tight pop/rock act.
You will have seen them in the press on the TV shows Noted, Street Journal and MTV base as well as for winning the SA leg of the World-Wide EA Games Amplify competition among other things.
